Google.org is the philanthropic sector of Google. The company most recently introduced a software program at the 2009 International Climate Change Conference that monitors developments with a forest through satellite images. This technology will allow countries to measure the changes within the forests and utilize the data to help regrowth.
“The Met Office Hadely Center, British Antarctic Survey, and the U.K. government on Monday introduced a Google Earth application that visualizes the anticipated temperatures changes from climate change over the next 100 years.” Google also is researching new technology to power their data centers and servers. This technology is both good for the environment and will eventually provide savings for the company.
