Has global warming changed the ocean current system at all?

This has not yet been observed anywhere in the world.  There is however fear from some scientists regarding the increase in freshwater water runoff from melting glaciers and increased precipitation, which are linked to global warming, being a catalyst for change in current patterns.  The freshwater runoff has the potential to alter the the density of the ocean water and quite possibly affect the flow patterns.
