    According to their website, the EPA highlighted its progress in 2005 for its 35th year anniversary. The EPA stated that since its establishment in 1970, the agency in partnership with other public and nonprofit organizations, has reduced, treated or eliminated more than 1.1 billion pounds of pollutants and this includes greenhouse gas emmissions.
