The biggest change to cheetah habitat is simply the loss of much of it.  As development moves into cheetah habitat they are forced to move out; this is true for not just cheetahs but many wild animals.  Loss of habitat is a one of the big reasons animals become endangered.

In addition to loss of habitat, the availability of prety has dropped significantly due to human encroachment, while incidence of disease has increased. In addition, by being forced to live in smaller areas, cheetah cubs have become more vulnerable to being eaten by lions and hyenas.
