Not sure if anyone has ever paddled a canoe but two men have rowed across the Pacific Ocean. The British Chris Martin and Chris Dawson spent 6 months crossing the Pacific Ocean from Chosi, Japan to San Francisco. They rowed 6,930 total for two charities: the Hamilton Lodge School for Deaf Children and the Hearts of Gold Hospice in Nigeria.
In addition to Martin and Dawson, a number of people have successfully completed missions rowing across the Pacific Ocean, although I’m not sure if a canoe has been a specific vessel. Peter Bird, another Brit, was the first person to row solo across the ocean. It took Bird 294 days to row from San Francisco to the Great Barrier Reef in 1983, and tragically he died on the return journey.
