A climate bill is slowly working its way through the US Congress. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has been attempting to introduce it for a while now, but energy companies have been attempting to delay it for as long as possible. the bill would include reforming offshore drilling, boositing alternative fuels, and a scaled back cap on emissions. The cap may have to take a backseat to offshore drilling reform, and there is less than three weeks left until the Senate’s August recess. Democrat congresspeople are also worried about angering constituents or donors, in case they get voted out of office in November.
