Is the harvesting of natural gas as bad for the environment as oil?

    Natural gas burns cleaner than the gasoline derived from crude oil, however to obtain it involves drilling into the Earth much like with oil, with similar levels of environmental destruction associated with it. Also, while “cleaner” than oil or coal, natural gas is still emitting 117,000 pounds per billion Btu of carbon dioxide. ‘Cleaner” does not mean clean
