Is hail common when there is a tornado?

The same severe thunderstorms that produce hail have the potential to also produce tornadoes.  When the conditions of warm, moist, and unstable air meet a cold front, the results can be nasty.  However, hail does not always accompany tornadoes, it is a warning sign due to similar thunderstorm conditions producing both.
