    Yes habitat loss is part of why polar bears are dying. Polar bears live in ice and glacier habitat and global warming is melting glaciers is destroying the habitats of polar bears. Polar bears are also dying from pollution and other kinds of habitat destruction.

    The polar bear is considered the first species to become threatened due to global warming. It’s becoming more difficult for polar bears to find a suitable habitat with the sea ice decreasing. They need to swim further and wait longer between meals. Global warming is also affecting their main food source- seals. Poaching is another issue causing polar bear numbers to decline.
