Is gypsum hard?

    It is hard enough and sturdy enough to form the world’s largest crystals. Yet, it is soft enough to be scraped by a fingernail. Compared to most other minerals, it is rather soft. Ranked on the Mohs mineral hardness scale, Gypsum ranks a 2 out of 10, with 1 being the softest.
