A better question to ask would be what method produces more waste. Grilling chicken produces smoke, contributing to air pollution. However, if cooking is done with some type of oil, there is the used oil which needs to be wasted. Consider also the resources needed for grilling versus frying. Grilling needs an energy source (i.e. gas, electricity or charcoal) and nothing else. Frying requires this energy source as well as a medium for the cooking, the oil. At the end of the day frying requires a greater use of resources.
