Green coffee could mean two things:

    1) Green coffee beans.

    2) Beans that are grown using environmentally-friendly or community-friendly methods.

Since mostly the second is relevant to our site (although there is a recent study that suggests green coffee beans in small amounts are good for the health).

The answer is basically, yes, green coffee growing is good. Good for the environment, good for communities. Even thinking about being green is a step forward from the way things were 30 years ago.

Peet’s Coffee has a brief site explaining their policy and practice, but the more interesting information is in their downloadable PDF. (Which is also linked below.) It includes people’s stories, techniques, and certifications.
