Great Oak survival question

I’m a biologist in the Pacific northwest: Oaks (Quercus spp) in this region get mutilated, chopped down, burned and a variety of other insults and keep going strong and/or continue to send out new shoots. Any chance this specimen will survive the freeze damage?

I am not sure what the most recent status is, however, at the time of the freeze, the locals intended to hire “a specialist firm of arboriculturalists to carry out an assessment” to see if the Great Oak could be saved. I would love to hear if anyone else has any more recent information regarding the state of this tree. A video about the tree can be seen in this BBC article.
