The grand canyon is getting deeper by about the width of a piece of paper every day. As the river slowly carves the canyon deeper, the surrounding landscape is actually climbing higher. So yes, the grand canyon is still getting deeper.
To add to the previous answer, yes the grand canyon is still getting deeper because the factors that helped create it are still in motion today. The Colorado River is still flowing through it and causing erosion. Also, did you know that the Grand Canyon is one of the few places in the world where you can openly see rock from 2 billion years ago? I thought that was interesting.
