Is the gorilla population in the DRC the biggest in the world?

    Yes. The majority of gorillas live in the rainforests of the northern Republic of Congo. A 2008 census of the gorilla population there indicated  that the population had increased from 50,000 (as measured in the previous 2 decades) to 125,000. Steven Sanderson, president of the Wildlife Conservation Society said, “These figures show that northern Republic of Congo contains the mother lode of gorillas.”
