Though there isn’t 100% agreement, many scientists believe that the gradual warming of of the earth is attracting disease-carrying insects from the tropics to northern countries, spreading malaria and other illnesses. Global warming also affects the weather, with warmer oceans increasing the likelihood of hurricanes and tropical storms. Many parts of the earth could begin to experience drought and overheating, which can lead to widespread health problems and even political conflict as resources become scarce.
