Yes, global warming does affect polar bears very much. Polar bears live on the ice and are marine mammals; global warming and higher temperatures results in the melting of the ice the polar bears call home. Polar bears are losing their homes and losing food supply. The retreating ice also lengthens the distance that the bears have to swim and makes the swim more dangerous. The polar bear is a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act because of the decline of sea ice.
