Global warming is definitely a defining issue of the 21st century, but I don’t know if you can call it the issue. Think about some of the other major changes which are occuring globaly. We are at a major turning point in economic history as extreme capitalism saw it’s major collapse in late 2008. Many historians, etc would mark this as just as big, if not larger, of an issue than climate change. Globalization is ever increasing as well as seeing backlashes; overpopulation, megacities and urban sprawl are monster issues. These are just a few isseus which can arguably define the ten years of the 21st century that we know.
