Year over year, world oil production has been about flat at 84.5 million barrels per day since 2005. It was up to 85.5 in 2008 and dropped back to about 84.5 in 2009; final figures for 2010 are not in but for most months (Jan-Sept) production was in the 85-86 million barrel a day range. Note that typically figures like these for the most recent year will be revised as the current year goes on – sometimes up, sometimes down.
