Is the global honey bee population actually increasing now?

The honey bee population is declining, especially in the United States and Europe, where bees have suffered from colony collapse disorder increasingly in recent years. The decline in their population could have a negative, global impact both horticulturally and economically as honey bees pollinate many crops, fruits and flowers that humans depend on both directly and indirectly for food consumption. Researchers think they might have discovered the cause of colony collapse disorder last spring when they discovered a parasite invading professional apiaries.
