Is German farmers’ strategy of selling produce and other foods in vending machines likely to catch on elsewhere?

I believe it could.  In the wake of local food movements, it seems like a logical next step, especially if the vending machines in Germany catch on.  I could foresee transportation being a problem, though; in many cities, farmers markets happen once or twice a week and could fill vending machines then.  Here’s hoping!
