Fleece is a synthetic fabric, made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), so it can be argued that because it’s man-made it might be harder to biodegrade. However, fleece can made from recycled plastic (eco-fleece seems to be on the rise in the markets), In addition, many people also see fleece as a good vegan alternative to wool, and many people also see fleece as a good vegan alternative to wool.
