Fiberglass is made of recycled glass and there are many recycling uses for fiberglass. The scraps can be made into cellulose insulation which is already comprised of around 80 percent recycled materials. Fiberglass is made up of recycled scrap glass, about 40 percent, so it can be made into fiberglass boards and fiberglass acoustical ceiling tiles. If a company is refurbishing their building, the old fiberglass ceiling tiles can be recycled into new ones. “When recycling of insulation materials is combined with the increases in energy efficiency realized by thermal insulation in buildings and industrial processes, the contributions to a more sustainable society can be enormous.”
