Clark and his team also developed an electrotactile hearing aid known as the “Tickle Talker,” and they are still at the forefront of research in deafness. Clark is currently a Honourary Laureate Professorial Fellow at the University of Melbourne’s Department of Otolaryngology. He has won many awards, including the Advance Australia Award, the Medal of Merit from the Lions Clubs, the James Cook Medal from the University of New South Wales, the Victoria Prize, the Rio Tinto Science Heroes Award, and he is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Sciences and of the Royal Society.
