Is the EPA about to take back their MPG claims for electric vehicles?

Claims of 230 miles-per-gallon for the Chevrolet Volt, and 367-mpg for the Nissan Leaf, were indeed too good to be (entirely) true. The EPA, after urging from an Israeli firm and the public, will soon be amending its mpg claims for these electric vehicles. Due by early 2010, right as the Volt and Leaf are due on the market, new mileage claims providing consumers with two different numbers (not yet specified) will likely have an impact on sales.
