I’m not sure about the energy consumption of each (possibly some TV’s might draw less electricity than a computer would, and in this case it would be better to use a TV), but from a materials standpoint, it does make sense to only build one machine for viewing stuff on a monitor, so yes. Why not have one stationary screen and one for mobile viewing, but let the computer/ cable box be all built in to one device? It makes sense to me that the two could be built to work together or a 2-in-1 function and that would lead us in an eco-friendly direction! Good question…
