El Nino mainly has its effects in the Pacific and across the Southern portion of the US and into Peru. It typically causes flooding in these areas and a change in the temperature. So the effects of El Nino it self are not on the artic, but EL Nino results from a warmiong of the Pacific waters, which is not great for the artci, because warmer temperatures lead to more ice melt and less arctic. There is also a drought in Australia which leads to brush fires, which puts more harmful greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, and if you believe this leads to global warming/cliamte change then it also has a negative effect on the Arctic.
