effect of synthetic fibres when degradation

  1. 0 Votes

Recent research has found that each time a garment made of synthetic fibers is laundered, it sheds thousands of particles called “microplastics.” These microplastics then find their way into oceans and coastal beaches and are often ingested by marine animals. While the impact of these particles on wildlife is still largely unknown, scientists have noted that when humans ingest these same particles, they may suffer from rashes, nausea, and difficulty breathing.
