Earth Day, though founded in Wisconsin in 1970, has spread worldwide. The Earth Day Network has over 17,000 organizations in 174 countries to teach programs about environmental issues. Earth Day, which is celebrated on April 22nd, has spread to Earth Week in many markets that celebrate.
