It’s true that land is mostly green as well as brown, but poor brown gets associated with dirt in a more negative capacity. We associate green with living things and plant coverage, which symbolizes a healthy and productive environment.
I agree with what panacea88 mentioned, we often associate “green” with health and sustainability. Living a green lifestyle helps to make sure that nature isn’t as impacted by human development, allowing plants and animals to live in a safe and healthy environment. When most people think of a brown environment, they think of barren wastes with little plant life.
