due to the dramatic increase of dengue, since the 1960’s what is the number of people affected by it now?

    The WHO estimates that approximately 50 million dengue infections every year, and about 2.5 billion people are at risk of contracting dengue fever. There were 890,000 reported cases in the Americas in 2007 alone. The disease is endemic in over a 100 countries. Without treatment, about 20% of peopel who contract it will pass away. With treatment, that number falls to about 2.5%.
