The primay chemical used in dry cleaning is perchloroethylene.  Perchloroethylene is toxic to fish, plants and other marine life, and is a central nervous system depressant.  Dizziness, headaches, sleepiness, confusion, nausea, difficulty in speaking and walking, unconsciousness, and even death can result from inhaling its vapors.
