The EDTA can be a factor in bringing electric cars to the masses, and it is certainly a vocal advocate of adopting EVs in a more widespread way, but I wouldn’t say they are responsible for what EVs there are now nor that it is their responsibility to make EVs catch on more in the future. They are one part of the process. Responsibility for making EVs more popular also falls to car companies who would produce and advertise EVs, and on the mindset of consumers. The EDTA can help speed the process along by providing support for the cause.
