As with any other food, try to buy organic and locally-made liquor if you want to be “green”. Many hard liquors we drink in America are imported, and the resources used up to transport these heavy bottles do have a negative impact on the environment. If you buy organic liquor, the ingredients used to make it will have less of an impact on the environment. if you buy locally-produced liquor, less resources have been used in transporting it to the market! Hope that helps.
If you are looking to define ‘green’ in terms of health, then no. The liver isn’t naturally equipped to withstand hard alcohol and works harder to process it. Though there are more sustainable ways of obtaining hard alcohol as czummer mentioned above, it’s not usually recommended as part of a nutritional and ‘green’ diet.
