It looks like it depends on what vehicles are available in your area, although the website does say hybrid cars are involved in the program. Even if you can’t find a hybrid, automobile sharing is a wonderful way to cut down on carbon emissions.
Zipcar mainly uses the all-electric Citroen C1 and the Plug-In Toytota Prius for their car-sharing program.
I used Zipcar for some time and absolutely loved it. It is definitely a fantastic alternative to car ownership, and they tend to have several types of hybrids available, though I never personally saw any all-electric vehicles. As mentioned earlier, it depends on what they have for your area. You can check the vehicle types on their website!
