Does wind have anything to do with ocean currents?

Wind effects the ocean’s surface. The process is very simple. Basically, the sun heats up the atmosphere thus creating wind. This winds moves the sea surface through friction, causing drag on the water. Although the wind’s influence on the ocean’s surface is strong, its influence doesn’t extend past 100 meters in depth.
