Whale meat is actually much less fatty then most meats that make up a Western diet. In 100g of Minke Whale meat, only 3.3g of that will be fat, if the cut is tail meat. At it’s leanest, Minke Whale meat will only have 1.2g of fat per 100g. This compares to pork at 16.6g of fat per 100g, and beef at 20.4g. Granted, the meat is fattier than most fish varieties, where Pacific Cod would only have .6g of fat per 100g.
