Does whale meat have the largest concentration of mercury in the world?

It appears so, according to a study of sperm whale toxins  released by U.S. scientists last year. The research showed mercury as high as 16 parts per billion in the sperm whales. Shark and swordfish have only 1 part per billion, and scientists urge pregnant women and children to stay away from these fish. The higher concentration is undoubtedly due to sperm whales being the largest creatures and at the top of the food chain.
