Does West Virginia see the pollution problems caused by coal?

    Yes, the state has been experiencing the negative effects of coal mining to their environment.  The steam shovels are destroying the natural vegetation that soak up CO2 and heavy metal toxins are being dumped to water sources.  The Environmental Integrity Project submitted a report indicating data that arsenic and other toxic materials were found in the water at coal ash disposal sites of up to 145 times beyond what was allowed by federal regulation.
