Does the use of weed killer cause weeds to evolve to be resistant to them?

In short, yes, but it is difficult to tell if this applies on a smaller scale such as one’s own lawn. While resistance is possible, it is not the most common cause of an herbicide’s failure to work. A good bit of advice in regards to resistance is to use herbicides with a different main chemical each year. That relatively simple fix is even applicable to large scale commercial growing endeavors!
