Does the military use similations to cut down their carbon footprint?

Simulators have been used in the air force in order to effectively train military personnel on how effective fly and maneuver airplanes. But the Air Force and other branches of the military are using other means, like making their bases more energy efficient. For example in Nellis Air Force Base, the largest solar array in North America exists. So as simulation does in fact help reduce emissions, the military is taking steps on making their bases greener, which will have a more profound effect in the future.
