Does the military use any of their money towards helping the environment?

Yes. The US Army corps of engineers is largely responsible for preserving and maintaining large swaths of native habitats and environmental resources in the areas around military bases. In Hawaii, the military posses some of the most pristine land, home to many native species. They work alongside the Nature Conservancy to preserve this land and, as you would expect, they have significant monetary and equipment resources at their disposal.
