Does the US wilderness act need to be redone?

The current Wilderness Act was implemented in 1964, and a lot has changed since then. There was not yet consensus on the impacts of human activity on climate change when the act was made law, for example. The act defines wilderness as “an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man.” Wilderness as defined in the act is more scarce now then it was in 1964. Recent discoveries in environmental science should be taken in to consideration, and this would mean updating the act.
