The United States passed Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Act of 1994 which made the Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Fund possible. The conservation fund provides grants that support anti-poaching programs, habitat management, development of nature reserves, and public awareness campaigns in addition to many other beneficial efforts. In 2009, Congress appropriated $2.5 million in a multi-national effort to fund 52 rhino and tiger conservation projects.
There are many organizations out there committed to saving big cat populations. Panthera is an organization that has parnered up with Save the Tiger Fund (STF), and has a Tigers Forever program that both help to increase tiger populations over the next decade. The World Wildlife Fund is also another major contributor to Tiger safety and preventing the extinction of this beautiful species.
