Yes. Ultraviolet light is technically radiation, and like all radiation, it can damage living cells by disrupting their DNA. In humans, this manifests as sunburns and potentially skin cancer, since our skin shields the rest of our body from the rays, and dmaaged cells will peel off in time. But since bacteria have only one cell, they can not recover from having their DNA damaged.
