Does the UK have a good recycling program?

It depends on which part of the UK is in question.  For example, Switzerland, has great recycling efforts in place, with 80% of their plastics being recycled, which is much higher than the European average of 20 to 40%.  However, the Swiss have a huge financial incentive to recycle also, because they are charged to throw out their trash, however, recycling is free.

England is doing the poorest job of recycling at 17.7% and Germans pride themselves on being environmentally conscious with a high number of 90% sorting and separating their recyclables.
