Does the sun use oxygen?

    No, the sun burns by “smashing” smaller and lighter elements into heavier ones, such as hydrogen to helium. The reactions in the sun are nuclear reactions and not chemical ones such a the ones one earth, as a result the sun’s “burning” does not require or use oxygen.
