In general, the sun does warm our planet and this energy does drive much of our weather. It creates warm air that,with cooler air, creates our wind patterns etc. However, does the solar cycle (rise/fall of sunspots) affect our weather? Scientist agree that it is unlikely with the exception of solar cosmic waves do seem to affect cloudiness.
