    South Africa has implemented projects to convert coal-fired kilns used for baking to natural gas, and low-cost-housing energy upgrade program in Cape Town. Private companies have partnered with the government to produce synthetic and biofuels from soya, sunflower, maize, and sugarcane. Feed-in tariffs on wind energy and solar power is expected to greatly stimulate the country’s sustainable energy production.
