Renault’s Fluence ZE has gotten some good feedback. According to The Guardian in the UK, the car can go 115 miles on a charge, has an attractive appearance, is comfortable, and has a top speed of 84 mph. This car will be the least expensive pure electric car in the UK at 17,850 pounds after a 5,000 pound government car grant. Home charging units and monthly battery lease fees will increase the price, but the ZE will cost less to run than a gasoline car. The battery lease enables Renault to ensure that the battery never falls below 75% capacity. Battery technology for electric cars is a primary concern, but is advancing and will hopefully be much improved in the near future.
